Completely reconditioned after its stint in the U. S. Civil War, this 1864 dated Musket has been half stocked for use as a civilian hunting gun for both ball and shot. All of the mounts are now partially engraved and nickel plated, and the butt stock was shortened and had a new butt plate installed. The original rifled barrel was also replaced with a smoothbore fowling barrel from Lige, Belgium, which bears the E L G
